Two dominant forwards in Bri Bishop and Addie Spratley are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Hope Christian Huskies will venture away from home to challenge the Albuquerque Academy Chargers at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with Hope Christian sitting on three straight victories and Albuquerque Academy on 13.
Last Thursday, Hope Christian strolled past Bernalillo with points to spare, taking the game 61-47.

Hope Christian relied on the efforts of Bishop, who dropped a triple-double with 26 points, 13 rebounds, and 12 steals, and Mia Bishop, who dropped a double-double with 22 points and 15 boards. The match was Bri's third in a row with at least 20 points. Another player making a difference was Adalynn Day, who posted six points in addition to 11 boards and eight assists.
Hope Christian was working as a unit and finished the game with 14 assists. They are 14-5 when they've passed the ball that well.
Meanwhile, Albuquerque Academy didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Bernalillo last Wednesday, but they still walked away with a 50-44 win. Given the Chargers' advantage in MaxPreps' New Mexico basketball rankings (they are ranked 18th, while the Spartans are ranked 67th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Albuquerque Academy's win came from a few key players Hope Christian will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Spratley, who went 6-for-9 to rack up 13 points along with six rebounds and four steals. She is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in each of the last ten games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Lily Skarsgard, who shot 42% from the field en route to 15 points and five steals.
Albuquerque Academy's victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 22-4. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.4 points over those games. As for Hope Christian, their record now sits at 17-10.
Hope Christian came up short against Albuquerque Academy in their previous meeting back in February, falling 38-33. Can Hope Christian avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
