Basketball Game Preview: Niskayuna Silver Warriors vs. Kennedy Catholic Gaels

The Niskayuna Silver Warriors will take on the Kennedy Catholic Gaels in a tournament on Friday. One thing working in Niskayuna's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last three games.

Last Tuesday, Niskayuna was able to grind out a solid win over Guilderland, taking the game 56-47.

Niskayuna's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ciarra Gonzalez, who almost dropped a double-double on 23 points and nine boards. Gonzalez continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Skye Linyear, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 16 boards.

Niskayuna smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 21 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards in six consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, Kennedy Catholic beat St. Anthony's 51-41 on Saturday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Gaels.

Niskayuna's record now sits at 4-2. As for Kennedy Catholic, their record now sits at 6-3.
