League recap: Tivnen dominating on the mound for Hoover

North Yosemite league recap: 5/22/13

Justin Tivnen was the best pitcher in North Yosemite this week, leading Hoover. He won one game and struck out six batters.

Sunnyside made the biggest jump in the California state rankings, moving from 654 to 621 thanks to a 1-1 record over the past week.

The Patriots' pitching was especially stingy this week, allowing four hits and two walks to lead the league in both categories.

The week's strikeout crown belonged to Tivnen, who turned in six Ks for Hoover. With 22 strikeouts this year so far, he ranks third in the league.



The highest batting average in the league this week belonged to the Patriots' Kyle Hansen, who churned out two hits in four at bats for a .500 average. He's batting .333 on the year, which puts him at third in the league. Hansen has totaled 21 hits this season.
