Baseball Recap: Dover-Eyota Find Success

Dover-Eyota posted their closest win since April 11th on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Plainview-Elgin-Millville Bulldogs 8-6. With that win, the Eagles brought their scoring average up to 6.2 runs per game.

The team relied heavily on Owen Ihrke, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Those two RBI gave him a new career-high.

Dover-Eyota pushed their record up to 8-8 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Plainview-Elgin-Millville, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season.
