Softball Recap: Homewood-Flossmoor Comes Up Short

Homewood-Flossmoor lost against Lincoln-Way East back in April, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Vikings came up short against the Griffins, falling 14-7.

Skylar Skinner was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-4 with one home run. The team also got some help courtesy of Demi Chaney, who went 1-for-4 with one home run.

Homewood-Flossmoor has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost nine of their last 11 matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-14 record this season. As for Lincoln-Way East, they pushed their record up to 23-4 with the win, which was their third straight at home.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Homewood-Flossmoor will head out to square off against Bloom at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Lincoln-Way East, they will venture away from home to face off against Bradley-Bourbonnais at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Boilermakers will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something the Griffins surely won't give up without a fight.
