Baseball Recap: Piper Picks Up Third Straight Win on the Road

It may have taken nine innings to finish the job, but Piper ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Leavenworth PIONEERS by a score of 6-1. The win continues a trend for the Pirates in their matchups with the PIONEERS: they've now won three in a row.

Carter Laird spent all nine innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on five hits.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Dylan Eikenbary, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one stolen base. That triple was his first of the season. Kaiden Simons was another key player, scoring a run and stealing three bases while getting on base in two of his five plate appearances.
