Softball Recap: North Baltimore Takes a Loss

North Baltimore fell victim to Continental and their airtight pitching crew on Saturday. They took a 3-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Pirates. While getting shut out isn't ideal, the Tigers haven't been shut out since back in March.

Brynlee Schmidt spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three runs (all of which were unearned) on five hits and racked up six Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances.

This is the second loss in a row for North Baltimore and nudges their season record down to 12-6. As for Continental, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-7 record this season.

North Baltimore will host Crestline at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. The Tigers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Bulldogs have averaged an impressive 6.4 runs per game this season. As for Continental, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Leipsic at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
