Goshen took a three-set defeat the last time they faced off against Western Brown, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Warriors skirted past the Broncos 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Warriors have posted since September 3, 2024.

Goshen wouldn't go down easily and took Western Brown into a fifth set where they got it done with a four-point win. The final score came out to 25-15, 25-14, 22-25, 24-26, 15-11.

Sophia Scherzinger paced Goshen's offense, picking up 16 kills. Scherzinger got some help from Macee Steele and her 38 assists. Finally, Kirsten Smith kept Goshen's defense grounded, leading the team with four blocks.

Goshen has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it. As for Western Brown, they are on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.
