Basketball Recap: Woods Charter Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Woods Charter was the 33-19 winner over Eno River Academy when they last played one another back in December of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Wolves took a 37-30 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bobcats on Friday. While the Wolves didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Bobcats 9-4 in the first quarter.

Despite the loss, Woods Charter still got an impressive performance from Valentina Podolyanskaya, who shot 45% from the field en route to 11 points along with five rebounds and four blocks. Podolyanskaya has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last six times she's played. Another player making a difference was Wesley Oliver, who posted 12 points and five boards.

Eno River Academy got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Leiden Schofield out in front who dropped a double-double with ten points and 12 rebounds. Those 12 boards gave Schofield a new career-high. Seno Chan was another key player, putting up nine points in addition to seven rebounds and three steals.

Woods Charter's defeat dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Eno River Academy, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 3-5.

Woods Charter has already played their next game (against River Mill), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Eno River Academy, they will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Oxford Prep at 6:00 p.m. on the 15th.
