Basketball Preview: Bloomfield Bobcats vs. Aztec Tigers
Bloomfield is 9-1 against the Tigers since December of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The Bloomfield Bobcats will be staying on the road to face off against the Aztec Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on February 8th. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Saturday, Bloomfield earned a 53-46 win over the Chieftains.
Andrew Florez continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 19 points and ten rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Bloomfield's points. Sam Slivers was another key contributor, scoring 15 points.
Aztec can finally bid farewell to their eight-game losing streak thanks to their game on Saturday. They secured a 71-67 W over Miyamura. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Bloomfield's win bumped their record up to 7-13. As for Aztec, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-16.
Bloomfield beat the Tigers 57-49 in their previous meeting back in February of 2023. Does Bloomfield have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Tigers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
