Volleyball Recap: Dunnellon Takes a Loss

Dunnellon was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They lost 3-0 to the Lake Weir Hurricanes. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Hurricanes this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in August.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 25-10, 25-9.

Myah Roof paced Dunnellon's offense, picking up three kills. Roof got some help from Aubree Smith and her six assists. Finally, Roof was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high two blocks.

Dunnellon's defeat dropped their record down to 1-9. As for Lake Weir, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season.

Dunnellon will challenge West Port at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Lake Weir, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Umatilla at 7:00 p.m. on the 29th.
