Basketball Preview: West Clermont Wolves vs. Talawanda Brave
The West Clermont Wolves's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Talawanda Brave at 7:30 p.m. on February 6th. Hopefully West Clermont focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 19 on Tuesday.
Last Tuesday, West Clermont took a serious blow against the Warriors, falling 71-41. While losing is never fun, West Clermont can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 487th, while the Warriors are ranked 32nd).
Rayshawn Hubbard put forth a good effort for the losing side as he scored 15 points. That was a full 36.6% of West Clermont's points, marking the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaden Brock-Sanderfer, who scored nine points.
Meanwhile, it was a hard-fought contest, but Talawanda had to settle for a 53-50 loss against the Wildcats on Friday.
West Clermont dropped their record down to 5-14 with that defeat, which was their seventh straight on the road. As for Talawanda, their loss dropped their record down to 2-17.
West Clermont skirted past the Brave 66-63 in their previous meeting back in February of 2023. Does West Clermont have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Brave turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
