Softball Game Preview: Yamhill-Carlton Tigers vs. Foothill Cougars

A feisty cat fight will be fought as Yamhill-Carlton Tigers challenge Foothill Cougars at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Yamhill-Carlton is coming into the match on a four-game losing streak dating back to last season.

Yamhill-Carlton fell victim to Vanden and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They lost 12-0 to the Vikings.

Meanwhile, Foothill sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-3 win over Oregon City on Tuesday.

Foothill's victory was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Elisea Wiegand, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI and one double. Malia Webb was another, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

Foothill has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-3-1 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.1 runs over those games. Yamhill-Carlton's loss dropped their record down to 0-3.
