Vernon is 5-0 against Quanah since December of 2014 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The Vernon Lions will challenge the Quanah Indians at 3:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Vernon is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Memorial just ended the team's four-game winning streak on Tuesday. They took a blow against the Mavericks, falling 68-39. The matchup marked the Lions' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Meanwhile, Quanah came up short against Seymour on Tuesday and fell 66-53. While losing is never fun, the Indians can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 737th, while the Panthers are ranked 99th).

Having lost for the first time this season, Vernon fell to 4-1. As for Quanah, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-5.

Vernon didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Quanah in their previous matchup back in January of 2021, but they still walked away with a 64-60 win. Does Vernon have another victory up their sleeve, or will Quanah turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
