Baseball Recap: Winston County Falls to Curry in First Game of Season

Winston County unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They lost 15-2 to Curry on Tuesday. Winston County hasn't had much luck with Curry recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

Winston County saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Will Elliott, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI. What's more, Elliott also posted two hits, the most he's had since back in March of 2024.

Curry's win ended a seven-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 1-1.

Looking ahead, Winston County will square off against Carbon Hill at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Curry, they will venture away from home to face off against Meek at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
