Monmouth Academy is 8-2 against Madison since May of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Mustangs will be playing at home against the Bulldogs at 4:00 p.m. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Monmouth Academy took a loss when they played away from home on Monday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Wednesday. They had just enough and edged out Maranacook 7-6. The Mustangs haven't had any issues with the Black Bears recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.

Meanwhile, Madison entered their tilt with Hall-Dale on Wednesday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They never let Hall-Dale get on the board and left with a 10-0 win. That's two games straight that Madison has won by exactly ten runs.

Jayden Horton was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 11 over six innings pitched. Horton was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. Those three hits gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Kamdyn Norton and Jaeson Almeida did most of the damage at the plate: Norton went 1-for-2 with two runs and one stolen base, while Almeida went 1-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Those two runs gave Norton a new career-high.

Monmouth Academy's victory was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-2. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.4 runs over those games. As for Madison, their victory bumped their record up to 3-1.

Everything went Monmouth Academy's way against Madison when the teams last played back in May of 2024, as Monmouth Academy made off with a 9-0 win. Will the Mustangs repeat their success, or do the Bulldogs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
