Enterprise hasn't had much luck against Foothill recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Hornets will be playing at home against the Cougars at 4:00 p.m. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Enterprise is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They were the clear victors by a 24-7 margin over Anderson on Wednesday. The Hornets haven't had any issues with the Cubs recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.
Shelby Hopper made a big impact no matter where she played. She tossed seven innings while giving up three earned (and four unearned) runs off seven hits. Those earned runs marked the first that she tossed this season. She was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 4-for-6.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Carly Graham, who went a perfect 6-for-6 with five runs, six RBI, and two stolen bases. Those six hits gave her a new career-high. Sadie Ross was another key player, scoring four runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-6.
Enterprise always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .545. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Foothill waltzed into their game on Thursday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They blew past the Panthers 12-2. With that win, the Cougars brought their scoring average up to 6.3 runs per game.
Like Enterprise, Foothill also got a great game from a two-way player: Elisea Wiegand. On the mound, she struck out 16 batters over six innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits. Wiegand has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring three runs while going 3-for-4.
Wiegand wasn't the only one making solid contact as seven players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Sofia Nichols, who went 3-for-4 with one home run and five RBI. Another was Addyson Cheney, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.
Foothill pushed their record up to 10-3-1 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Enterprise, their victory bumped their record up to 4-5-1.
Friday's match will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Enterprise hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .347. However, it's not like Foothill struggles in that department as they've averaged .318. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Enterprise might still be hurting after the 21-0 defeat they got from Foothill in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can the Hornets avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
