Volleyball Recap: Montverde Academy Eagles vs. Space Coast Vipers
It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Montverde Academy had no problem doing just that on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Space Coast Vipers as they made off with a 3-0 win. Winning may never get old, but the Eagles sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.
Montverde Academy's not only won, but also showed off some consistency: keeping Space Coast between 15 and 17 points across their sets. The match finished with set scores of 25-16, 25-17, 25-15.
Montverde Academy was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 17 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least 15 aces in three consecutive games.
Despite the loss, Space Coast saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Siena Allotta had 22 digs. Allotta has been hot , having posted 11 or more digs the last seven times she's played.
Montverde Academy pushed their record up to 13-8 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home. As for Space Coast, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 12-11.
