Basketball Recap: Hamburg Comes Up Short

Hamburg lost against West Seneca West back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Hamburg Bulldogs took a 51-36 bruising from the West Seneca West Warhawks. The Bulldogs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

West Seneca West's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Ava Gunnells led the charge by dropping a double-double on 13 points and 14 boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Bella Ceccarelli, who went 6 of 15 en route to 17 points.

Hamburg's loss dropped their record down to 1-4. As for West Seneca West, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-1.

Hamburg will take on Amherst Central at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for West Seneca West, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 59-41 victory against Nardin Academy on the 25th.
