Basketball Recap: Montour Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Montour couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They fell 48-38 to the Chartiers Valley Colts on Tuesday. The game marked the Spartans' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

When it comes to explaining why Montour lost, don't look at Ama Tening Sow. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double with ten points and 19 rebounds. Sow is on a roll when it comes to boards, as he's now pulled down eight or more in each of the last 30 games he's played dating back to last season. Another player making a difference was Kaleb Platz, who posted 12 points.

Montour's loss ended an 11-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 25-3. As for Chartiers Valley, they pushed their record up to 24-3 with the win, which was their ninth straight at home.

Montour does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Chartiers Valley, they will square off against Greater Johnstown at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Greater Johnstown will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Chartiers Valley surely won't give up without a fight.
