Basketball Game Preview: West Branch Bears vs. Mid-Prairie Golden Hawks

For the first time this season, West Branch will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup. They will take on the Mid-Prairie Golden Hawks at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

West Branch is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 56 points on Monday, they were much more limited against Camanche on Tuesday. They came up short against the Indians, falling 45-22. The Bears have struggled against the Indians recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Meanwhile, Mid-Prairie came up short against Mt. Vernon on Monday and fell 59-46. The loss put an end to the Golden Hawks' undefeated start to the season.

Having lost for the first time this season, West Branch fell to 3-1. As for Mid-Prairie, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.

West Branch was dealt a bruising 65-20 defeat at the hands of Mid-Prairie when the teams last played back in January. Can the Bears avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
