Softball Recap: Washington-Liberty Starts Season with Victory Against West Potomac

Washington-Liberty gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Monday. They blew past the West Potomac Wolverines 13-7. The Generals not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since April 8, 2024.

Washington-Liberty got a massive performance out of Cara Bolejack, who scored four runs and stole a base while getting on base in all five of her plate appearances. The dominant performance gave Bolejack a new career-high in runs. Celia Anbinder was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one double.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Washington-Liberty is packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game this season: they will challenge Edison at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for West Potomac, they will face off against West Springfield at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The game will give West Potomac their first taste of in-conferenceaction this season.
