After having lost a blowout in their previous game against El Camino, Oceanside was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They blew past the Valley Center Jaguars 3-0. The win was some much needed relief for the Pirates as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Oceanside got the W, but it wasn't easy, at least in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-15, 55-18, 25-22.

Oceanside's victory was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 8-10. As for Valley Center, their loss was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 9-12.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Oceanside is set to challenge their familiar foe Fallbrook at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Valley Center will take on rival San Pasqual at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
