Basketball Game Preview: Shelby County Wildcats vs. Sylacauga Aggies

Shelby County hasn't had much luck against Sylacauga recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Shelby County Wildcats will venture away from home to square off against the Sylacauga Aggies at 6:00 p.m. Sylacauga took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Shelby County, who comes in off a win.

Shelby County will head into Friday's game on the come-up: they were handed a heart-breaking three-point loss in their last contest, but they sure didn't let that happen against Montevallo on Friday. Shelby County took their matchup with ease, bagging a 63-17 win over Montevallo. The Wildcats have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 games by 20 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Sylacauga was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They lost 46-26 to Briarwood Christian. While losing is never fun, the Aggies can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 252nd, while the Lions are ranked 70th).

Sylacauga's loss dropped their record down to 5-13. As for Shelby County, their victory bumped their record up to 13-6.

Shelby County strolled past Sylacauga in their previous matchup last Tuesday by a score of 50-33. The rematch might be a little tougher for Shelby County since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
