Baseball Recap: Oakland Drops Highest Score of Season Against North Douglas

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Oakland). They blew past North Douglas 14-3 on Friday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Oakers considering their two-run performance the contest before.

Jachai Myers tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run while striking out nine over five innings pitched. Those nine strikeouts gave him a new career-high.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Andrew Mason, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Gavin Williams was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and two RBI.

With the win, Oakland broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 4-10. As for North Douglas, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Oakland will host Myrtle Point at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for North Douglas, they will welcome Oakridge at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
