Baseball Game Preview: Park Place Christian Academy Crusaders vs. Lamar Raiders

For the second straight game, Park Place Christian Academy will face off against Lamar. The Crusaders will welcome the Raiders at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday. Park Place Christian Academy has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the match with 15 straight losses, while Lamar will come in with three straight victories.

The home team had won the previous four meetings between Park Place Christian Academy and Lamar, and Lamar kept the tradition alive. The Crusaders lost 13-6 to the Raiders on Tuesday.

For Lamar's part, Jackson Whitcomb made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He struck out eight batters over 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits (and only one walk). That's the most strikeouts Whitcomb has posted since back in March. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-5 with one home run, three RBI, and one double.

In other batting news, Sullivan Reed and Nate Lee did most of the damage at the plate: Reed scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances, while Lee scored two runs while going 2-for-3. That's the most hits Lee has posted since back in March. Ty Herrington was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4.

Park Place Christian Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 8-17. As for Lamar, their win bumped their record up to 22-6-2.
