Baseball Game Preview: Silver Creek Dragons vs. New Albany Bulldogs

The Silver Creek Dragons will take on the New Albany Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Silver Creek will be looking to extend their current 11-game winning streak.

Silver Creek's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. They came out on top against Brownstown Central by a score of 5-0.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for New Albany, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They skirted past Columbus East 3-2. The Bulldogs haven't had any issues with the Olympians recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Sean Rose spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on three hits and racked up eight Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Tyler McMillen was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high.

New Albany's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-8. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Silver Creek, their victory bumped their record up to 17-3.

Silver Creek came up short against New Albany when the teams last played back in May of 2024, falling 7-4. Can the Dragons avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
