Baseball Recap: Burges Takes a Loss

Burges was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They lost 7-1 to the Canutillo Eagles. The Mustangs were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Eagles earlier this season, when they won 9-6.

Burges saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Victor Aguirre, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Burges' loss dropped their record down to 6-13-2. As for Canutillo, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-6-2 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Burges will challenge rival Andress at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Canutillo is set to face off against their familiar foe Chapin at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
