It was a good run, but Pee Dee Academy unfortunately witnessed the end of their eight-match winning streak on Monday. They fell just short of the King's Academy Lions by a score of 3-2. The Golden Eagles were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Lions earlier this season, when they won 3-0.

Pee Dee Academy took a 2-1 lead headed into the fourth set, but sadly they lost the next two. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 22-25, 25-19, 21-25, 25-22, 15-12.

Pee Dee Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 14-3. As for King's Academy, the victory snapped their losing streak at three matches and leaves them with a 4-8 record.

Coming up, Pee Dee Academy will welcome Green Sea Floyds at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for King's Academy, they will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Dillon Christian at 6:00 p.m. on October 13.
