Santa Margarita faced Tesoro in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Monday. The Eagles came out on top against the Titans by a score of 25-12. The win was just business as usual for the Eagles, who after five games remain undefeated this season.

It was another big night for Madi Lam, who threw for 270 yards and four touchdowns while completing 77.5% of her passes, and also rushed for 31 yards. Grace Garofalo also helped with two TDs in total.

Santa Margarita didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Maria Burgueno and Sammy Collazo.

When it comes to explaining why Tesoro lost, don't look at Jenna Tuttle. Despite the final result, she picked up 65 receiving yards and a pair of scores.

Santa Margarita's victory bumped their record up to 5-0. As for Tesoro, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 3-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Santa Margarita will welcome Mission Viejo at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Eagles are facing the Diablos at the right time seeing as the Diablos are stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Tesoro, they will be playing at home against Corona at 3:00 p.m. on September 3.
