Softball Game Preview: Marathon Dolphins vs. Colonial Christian Patriots

The Marathon Dolphins will take on the Colonial Christian Patriots at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams are strolling into their contests after big wins in their previous games.

Last Wednesday, Marathon got the win against Ransom Everglades by a conclusive 19-9. The Dolphins haven't had any issues with the Raiders recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Marathon got a massive performance out of Daniuska Perdomo, who scored four runs and stole four bases while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances. Shaina Robinson was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-2.

Marathon always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .756. The last time their OBP was this high was back in April of 2024.

Meanwhile, Colonial Christian can bid farewell to their six-game losing streak dating back to last season thanks to their game last Thursday. They blew past Immaculata-La Salle 20-11. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Patriots considering their one-run performance the matchup before.

Marathon pushed their record up to 2-0 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Colonial Christian, the win got them back to even at 1-1.

Everything went Marathon's way against Colonial Christian when the teams last played back in April of 2024, as Marathon made off with a 17-0 victory. Does Marathon have another victory up their sleeve, or will Colonial Christian turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
