Soccer Game Preview: Our Lady of Mercy vs. Fairport

The Our Lady of Mercy Monarchs will head out on the road to face off against the Fairport Red Raiders at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Our Lady of Mercy's offense. They came up short against Aquinas Institute on Tuesday, falling 4-0. While losing is never fun, Our Lady of Mercy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York soccer rankings (they are ranked 205th, while Aquinas Institute are ranked second).

Meanwhile, Fairport also failed to score in their most recent game. They fell just short of Penfield by a score of 1-0 on Thursday.

Our Lady of Mercy's defeat ended a four-match streak of away wins and brought them to 5-8. As for Fairport, their loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 2-2-1.
