Kelseyville had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the ten-run drubbing they dealt Lower Lake on Friday. Kelseyville's pitcher stepped up to hand Lower Lake a 10-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Knights, who have now won five games by ten runs or more so far this season.

Brock Barrick made a big impact no matter where he played. He kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 12 over five innings pitched. What's more, he gave up only one walk, the fewest he's had since back in April of 2024. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, four RBI, and one double.

In other batting news, Kyle Watkins was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-2. Casey Huston was another key player, going a perfect 1-for-1 with two RBI.

Kelseyville always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .593. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lower Lake only posted an OBP of .062.

Kelseyville's record is now 6-2. As for Lower Lake, they dropped their record down to 0-4 with the loss, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Kelseyville will head out to square off against Middletown at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Lower Lake, they will venture away from home to challenge The Bay School at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Bay School's pitching crew has only allowed 3.9 runs per game this season, so Lower Lake's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
