Basketball Recap: Fike Picks Up Tenth Consecutive Win

Fike extended their winning streak to ten games thanks to a huge performance from Jamaria Freeman. The Fike Demons simply couldn't be stopped on Saturday as they easily beat the Southern Nash Firebirds 82-47 thanks in part to Freeman, who shot 6-for-8 from downtown and dropped a double-double on 39 points and ten boards. Her evening made it five games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Jewel Brewington, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 11 boards. That's the most boards she has posted since back in December of 2023.

Fike's win bumped their record up to 10-0. As for Southern Nash, they now have a losing record at 4-5.

Fike will welcome Smithfield-Selma at 6:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025. The timing is sure in Fike's favor as the squad sits on four straight wins at home while Smithfield-Selma has been banged up by four consecutive losses on the road. As for Southern Nash, they will head out to square off against Bunn at 5:45 p.m. on January 7, 2025.
