Baseball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Elkhart Lake-Glenbeulah

Elkhart Lake-Glenbeulah extended their winning streak to three on Monday, bumping their season record up to 10-5 in the process. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Hilbert Wolves a 3-0 shutout. The Resorters have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Wolves, too.

The result came thanks to Ethan Fromm's shutout, as he gave up just four hits and racked up ten Ks. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Cole Wagner, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and one RBI. He has become a key player for Elkhart Lake-Glenbeulah: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 4-5 otherwise.

As for Hilbert, their loss dropped their record down to 7-11. Having soared to a lofty 17 runs in the game before, their shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

On Hilbert's side, they saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Drew Halbach, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base.

Elkhart Lake-Glenbeulah will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Wolves: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
