Volleyball Game Preview: Decatur Eisenhower Panthers vs. Lincoln Railsplitters

Decatur Eisenhower hasn't had much luck against Lincoln recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Panthers will head out to take on the Railsplitters at 7:00 p.m.

On Tuesday, Decatur Eisenhower came up short against Normal University and fell 2-0.

The match finished with set scores of 25-3, 25-8.

Meanwhile, Lincoln posted their closest win since October 29, 2024 on Thursday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Taylorville 2-1. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Lincoln was actually outscored in aggregate across those three sets (68-66), but they still managed to win. The final score came out to 25-23, 16-25, 25-20.

Lincoln has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-10 record this season. As for Decatur Eisenhower, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-19.

Decatur Eisenhower couldn't quite get it done against Lincoln when the teams last played back in October of 2024 as they fell 2-0. Can the Panthers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
