Football Recap: Brookville Falls to Keystone in First Game of Season

Brookville unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They took a blow against the Keystone Panthers on Friday, falling 55-6. The Raiders were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Panthers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in September of 2023.

Trenton Colgan threw for 178 yards and one touchdown. Sam Krug was his top target, picking up 106 receiving yards.

Dom Corcetti was a one-man wrecking crew For Keystone. as he rushed for 276 yards and four TDs on only ten carries, and also threw for 56 yards and one touchdown. Those four rushing touchdowns gave Corcetti a new career-high. Speaking of playmakers, who could forget Eli Nellis, who went all the way with a kickoff return for a touchdown.

Coming up, Brookville is taking a road trip to square off against Karns City at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup will give the Raiders their first taste of in-conference action this season. As for Keystone, they will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against Central Clarion [Clarion/Clarion-Limestone/North Clarion] at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
