Softball Recap: Kettle Run Takes a Loss

Kettle Run fell victim to James Wood and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They lost 13-0 to the Colonels. The Cougars haven't had much luck with the Colonels recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.

Kettle Run saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ryan Drew, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base.

Kettle Run's defeat dropped their record down to 7-4. As for James Wood, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 9-4.

Coming up, Kettle Run will square off against Liberty at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Eagles have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 6.83 runs per game on average), something the Cougars will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for James Wood, they will take on Strasburg at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Colonels 2.7, the Rams 3) so any runs scored will be well earned.
