Soccer Recap: Marana Takes a Loss

Marana was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They were one goals away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Catalina Foothills Falcons. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arizona soccer rankings (they are ranked 129th, while the Falcons are ranked 36th).

Marana's defeat dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Catalina Foothills, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 5-2.

Marana will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Catalina Foothills at 6:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025. As for Catalina Foothills, they wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and have already played their next contest, a 5-1 win against Pusch Ridge Christian Academy on the 27th.
