Recap: Organ Mountain Knights vs. Hobbs Eagles
This season hasn't been kind to The Organ Mountain Knights, who are still winless after their ninth contest. They took a serious blow against Hobbs on Friday, falling 58-10. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Organ Mountain in their matchups with Hobbs: they've now lost seven in a row.
Hobbs' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Justin Black led the charge by picking up 190 receiving yards and a touchdown. Black's longest reception was for an incredible 77 yards. Another player making a difference was Owen Callaway, who threw for 184 yards and two touchdowns on only 14 passes.
Organ Mountain's defeat was their sixth straight at home (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 0-9. As for Hobbs, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-5.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Organ Mountain will take on Alamogordo at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Alamogordo is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak. As for Hobbs, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Carlsbad at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in New Mexico (Carlsbad is ranked 27th, while Hobbs is ranked 14th).
