Softball Recap: Paulding Beats Continental for Their Third Straight Win

Paulding entered their tilt with Continental on Saturday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They came out on top against the Pirates by a score of 7-4. That's more bragging rights for the Panthers, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Tia Mendez spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned runs on six hits and racked up ten Ks.

At the plate, Paulding saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mariah Klopfenstein, who went 2-for-4 with one double and one RBI. Another was Civil Pumphrey, who went 2-for-4 with one triple and one run.

Paulding's record now sits at 13-5. As for Continental, their defeat ended an eight-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 13-4.

Paulding and Continental should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings. The Panthers (ranked 198th) will meet Crestview (ranked 470th) at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Continental will square off against Pandora-Gilboa at 4:30 p.m. on Monday with a big rank advantage (253 vs. 701).
