Softball Recap: West Perry Mustangs vs. Mifflin County Huskies
West Perry had lost nine straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Thursday they dropped down to 3-10 to make it ten. They fell 16-11 to the Mifflin County Huskies. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Mustangs of the 15-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2025.
Addi Lupfer was cooking despite her team's loss, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs and one RBI. Addie Wiest also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.
As for Mifflin County, their victory ended an eight-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 3-9. That five-run margin sets a new team best for them this season.
On Mifflin County's side, Mya Felmlee and Bailey Wyland did most of the damage at the plate: Felmlee went a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one double, while Wyland went 3-for-5 with five RBI, one triple, and one run. Those two runs gave Felmlee a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Malaina Maxwell, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and two RBI.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. West Perry will face off against Boiling Springs at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Mifflin County, they will challenge Chambersburg at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
