It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Fossil Ridge had no problem doing just that on Saturday. They blew past the Mullen Mustangs 49-7. The SaberCats pushed the score to 28-7 by the end of the third, a deficit the Mustangs had little chance of recovering from.
It was another big night for Nick Kubat, who threw for 408 yards and three touchdowns, and also rushed for 51 yards. He is on a roll when it comes to passing touchdowns, as he's now passed for three or more in the last seven games he's played. Marcus Mozer was Kubat's top target, picking up 132 receiving yards, while also punching in two touchdowns on the ground.
Fossil Ridge has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 34.7 points. As for Mullen, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-7.
