Baseball Game Preview: New Ulm Eagles vs. Tri-City United [Montgomery-Lonsdale/Le Center] Titans

The New Ulm Eagles will venture away from home to square off against the Tri-City United [Montgomery-Lonsdale/Le Center] Titans at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. New Ulm is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.6 runs per game this season.

New Ulm came into this matchup off a tough seven-run defeat on Saturday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of Marshall by a score of 11-9 on Monday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Eagles have suffered since April 25th.

Levi Hopp and Dirk Haynes did some serious damage despite the final result: Hopp got on base in all five of his plate appearances with one run and one RBI, while Haynes went 2-for-4 with two runs and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Cohen Domeier, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.

Meanwhile, Thursday just wasn't the day for Tri-City United [Montgomery-Lonsdale/Le Center]'s offense. They lost 10-0 to Marshall on Thursday. The contest marked the first time this year in which the Titans were not able to get on the board.

This is the second loss in a row for New Ulm and nudges their season record down to 11-5. As for Tri-City United [Montgomery-Lonsdale/Le Center], they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-9 record this season.
