Basketball Recap: Clarinda Takes a Loss

Clarinda suffered their biggest loss since February 2, 2024 on Tuesday. They were outmatched by the Kuemper Knights and fell 80-46. While losing is never fun, the Cardinals can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Iowa basketball rankings (they are ranked 202nd, while the Knights are ranked 19th).

With the defeat, Clarinda broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 8-7. As for Kuemper, the win (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 15-1.

Clarinda will face off against Clarke at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Kuemper, they will square off against Creston at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Kuemper knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past eight contests -- so hopefully Creston likes a good challenge.
