Basketball Game Preview: Chapman Irish vs. Clay Center Tigers

Chapman and Clay Center are an even 5-5 against one another since March of 2021, but not for long. Having just played yesterday, the Chapman Irish will get right back to it and host the Clay Center Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Chapman is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.

On Monday, Chapman came up short against Marysville and fell 54-46.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Clay Center challenged Concordia on Friday. Clay Center walked away with a 43-31 win over Concordia. Given the Tigers' advantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 36th, while the Panthers are ranked 199th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Clay Center is also on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-3-1 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 21.5 points per game. As for Chapman, their loss dropped their record down to 2-10.
