Softball Recap: Sheboygan Falls' Luck Changes for the Better on Saturday

Sheboygan Falls came into Saturday's contest having lost 12 straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Oostburg Flying Dutchmen a 15-0 shutout on Saturday. The match marked the Falcons' most dominant victory of the season.

Abby Kanios was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out ten over four innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in April. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.

In other batting news, Chloe Thill was incredible, going 3-for-4 with seven RBI, three runs, and one triple. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. Trinity Horn was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.

Sheboygan Falls' win bumped their record up to 3-13. As for Oostburg, they dropped their record down to 7-7 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Coming up, Sheboygan Falls will take on Roncalli at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Oostburg, they will face off against Sheboygan South at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
