Baseball Recap: Columbus Comes Up Short

Columbus fought the good fight in their extra-innings match against Norris on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Titans by a score of 8-7. The defeat continues a trend for the Discoverers in their meetings with the Titans: they've now lost four in a row.

Grant Zoucha made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That home run marked the first that he launched this season.

Columbus' loss dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Norris, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-2.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Columbus will face off against rival Omaha Westside at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Norris is set to take on their familiar foe Blair at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
