Basketball Recap: Vincent Kray's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Drew Charter over Redan

On Tuesday, Drew Charter were within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 52-46 to the Redan Raiders. While Drew Charter didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating Redan 19-15 in the first quarter.

Drew Charter lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Vincent Kray, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 13 boards. Those 13 rebounds gave Kray a new career-high. Jason Thrash also deserves some recognition as he posted his first block of the season.

Redan got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Ke'Shawn Briggs out in front who posted 11 points and four steals. Another player making a difference was Tae Beavers, who put up eight points and 15 boards.

Drew Charter's loss dropped their record down to 8-8. As for Redan, their win ended an eight-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-9.

Drew Charter wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 61-57 victory against Miller Grove on the 17th. Redan has also already played their next match, an 84-40 defeat against Columbia on the 17th.
