Baseball Recap: Noble Comes Up Short

Noble easily dispatched Sanford on Thursday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. The Knights fell just short of the Falmouth Navigators by a score of 10-8 on Saturday. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for the Knights, who until this game were averaging 3.71 runs allowed.

Alec Hale led a balanced group of hitters, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one double. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Evan Ballard, who went 1-for-2 with three RBI and one run.

Noble now has a losing record of 3-4. As for Falmouth, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 4-2.

Looking ahead, Noble will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Windham at 4:30 p.m. The Knights are facing the Eagles at the right time seeing as the Eagles are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Falmouth, they will challenge Biddeford at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Tigers will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each contest than the last.
